Our “less is more” philosophy and artistic natural-looking results will leave you the best version of yourself. “The goal is to look rejuvenated and not ‘frozen’ when it comes to Botox and dermal fillers,” says Brooke Anderson, RN, BNS, owner, and co-founder of Maven Medical Arts. Brooke has been both a speaker and trainer for Allergan Medical Institute (the makers of Juvéderm and Botox) since 2010. Our unique approach and technique for dermal filler and lip filler will leave you younger-looking after a single visit to our boutique private Draper office.

Dermal Filler & Lip Filler in SLC

As we mature, loss of volume leads to wrinkles, prominent nasolabial folds, thinned lips, exaggerated jowls, and marionette lines. The natural deterioration of underlying bone and soft tissue leaves a hollowed, aged appearance. Fillers injected below the skin surface can correct age-related volume loss.

At Maven Medical Arts in Draper, Utah, our expert team uses hyaluronic acid-based fillers like Juvéderm® and Restylane® to augment the cheeks, reduce wrinkles, enhance lips and give patients a natural, more youthful appearance.

We are constantly introducing the latest innovations in dermal fillers and the most advanced fillers on the market today, in addition to collagen stimulators like Sculptra® and neuromodulators such as Botox Cosmetic.

Thanks to Botox, Dysport, and other cosmetic injections such as Sculptra and Juvederm Voluma, facial rejuvenation can be accomplished in a single treatment. While there are many medspas and medical spas in the Salt Lake City area which offer free consultations and “bargain” injectables, Maven Medical Arts offers experience and precision, as well as the skills to have the most beautiful, best dermal filler and lip filler results in our Draper, Utah location.

Which Dermal Filler Do I Need?

Several dermal fillers are available in our Draper office:

  • Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus are hyaluronic acid fillers that are commonly used around the mouth and lips. Juvederm ultra plus has larger particles of HA for better structural hold. Each product may last up to one year.

  • Juvederm Voluma is a hyaluronic acid product with a dense consistency that adds volume and structure to the cheek area. The mid-sized HA particles in Voluma are suitable for lifting deep lines and creases around the nose and mouth. Results from treatment can last up to two years.

  • Volbella is the Juvéderm hyaluronic acid product that has been developed specifically for lip augmentation. The small particle size and cohesive consistency of this gel-based filler make it ideal for long-lasting softness and fullness. Results can last up to one year.

  • Juvéderm Voluxtm XC is a hyaluronic product made for deep injection to improve moderate to severe loss of jawline definition.

  • Vollure/Volift, also in the Juvederm family, is a highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler that smooths lines and creases for up to 15 months.

  • Radiesse is a filler and collagen stimulator that is made from calcium hydroxyapatite in a water-based gel. This naturally-occurring chemical plumps the dermis and also encourages the body to make more collagen, so after the filler has been absorbed, a new foundation of collagen supports youthful-looking skin. Results from treatment can last one year or more.

  • Restylane hyaluronic acid filler family provides a range of solutions for individuals who wants to look and feel their best. Restylane is commonly used to smooth lines and creases around the nose and mouth. Results last approximately one year.

  • Restylane Kysse Restylane®’s newest filler — Kysse — provides the three main characteristics that women and men want for injectable dermal fillers: soft and natural feeling, plump and pouty, and long-lasting (results up to one year!).

  • Restylane Lyft has been developed with a dense consistency that is ideal for restoring volume and contour to the midface. The larger particle sizes integrate well into deeper layers of tissue for results that last approximately one year.

  • Restylane Silk is a common lip filler that has a smooth, soft consistency that adds volume to the lips. This hyaluronic acid product may also decrease the fine lines that develop around the lips. Results from treatment can last six months or longer.

  • Sculptra is a collagen stimulator made of poly-L-lactic acid, the same chemical that has been used for several years to make dissolvable stitches. When introduced into the tissue, this filler provokes collagen proliferation that gradually corrects the signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss. A short series of treatments may be needed to obtain optimal results that last up to two years.

Dermal Filler FAQ

  • Dermal fillers are long-lasting, renewing the skin for up to two years. However, they do degrade over time. Treatment may be repeated every few months to years to soften the signs of aging.

  • If you receive filler treatment with a hyaluronic acid product, such as Juvéderm, Restylane, or any other HA filler, you may have some or all of your filler dissolved if you are not completely satisfied with your results. Treatment to dissolve hyaluronic acid dermal fillers involves injections of an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

  • Dermal fillers and Botox treatment can and often are administered during the same office visit. Because each product works differently in the skin, the two can be a powerful combination to achieve beautiful, natural-looking rejuvenation.

  • The side effects of dermal filler treatment are typically limited to mild, transient redness and swelling at injection sites. Minor bruising may also be noticed, but this is less common. Some people may notice prolonged swelling or the formation of lumps or bumps beneath their skin after a treatment. If these side effects occur, contact our office. We will schedule a visit or instruct you on what to do to handle your particular situation.

  • Dermal fillers are generally safe but as with any treatment, there are potential side effects. The risks include (but are not limited to): swelling, firmness, lumps, pain, redness, bruising, itching, and vascular compromise. This occurs in less than 1% of patients in our practice. Talk to your injector about any medications you are taking as these can increase the risk of bleeding or infection.

  • We recommend taking Arnica several days before having dermal fillers in our Draper office and immediately afterward since this minimizes the chance of bruising. In addition, before any cosmetic facial injection, it is best to refrain from taking any blood thinners, such as Aspirin, Motrin, Alleve, or Coumadin, for at least one week before your injections. Vitamins, fish oil, and herbal supplements can all cause bruising and should be similarly avoided. It is suggested to also refrain from drinking alcohol for at least one day before your cosmetic injections since alcohol can also lead to increased bruising.
